The Role:

We have an exciting new role here at Stephens' Head Office, reporting directly to our Head of Business Support, a key member of our leadership team.

Our Business Support Team plays a key role in being the first point of contact to all our retail customers and partners, and is an important link between our bakery and retail teams, handling all our customer orders.

The Business Support Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Business by overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our business-critical tasks, such as order processing and production arrays.

The Business Support Manager will also be responsible for the line management of our wonderful team of Operations Support Assistants (up to 6) – this team are key to managing the flow of orders for all our bakery products across our 15 retail outlets and over 150 retail partnerships.

In addition, you will also take on key tasks, such as managing our fleet of around 30 company vehicles, production planning for things like new product launches, and seasonal events, e.g. Christmas and Valentine's day etc, and working closely with our Head of Business Support to continually drive operational excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and assist with business-critical tasks
  • People Management - providing guidance, support, and encouraging a culture of collaboration and accountability across the team
  • Collaborate with the Head of Business Support to develop and implement strategies to optimise operational efficiency
  • Take ownership of key tasks including fleet management and production planning for seasonal events, ensuring deadlines are met and objectives are achieved
  • Ensure team compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and performance, working closely with every department within the business to achieve this
  • Pivotal in ensuring correct products are planned to go to the correct customers, for over 170 delivery locations, 7 days a week

What we need from you:

  • Excellent and effective people management and development skills (ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience)
  • Very strong administrative skills
  • Exceptional organisation and multitasking skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals across all areas and at all levels of the business
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also functioning well within a team environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other software applications
